Thank You WNC Bridge Foundation!

As we continue to settle into the new year we want to take the time to acknowledge community members who support the YWCA in our mission to eliminate racism and empower women. With that in mind we want to highlight the Western North Carolina Bridge Foundation! The Western North Carolina Bridge Foundation has been serving the region for over 15 years through directly assisting individual community members who are striving for health and wellness as well as nonprofit organizations who have dedicated themselves to similar mission. As change agents, the Bridge Foundation has pinpointed the three areas they can have the most significant impact: emergency wellness, elder care, and youth development. Servicing 18 counties in western North Carolina, the foundation provides aid through

  • MountainCare: A local nonprofit organization offering programs that provide critical community services, including Adult Care, Music Therapy, Grief Support, and the Rathbun House.

  • Grants to Nonprofits: Funding provided to qualified nonprofits working in the areas of elder care, emergency wellness, and youth development.

  • Community Wellness: Special programs that provide assistance through grants and directed funds to community organizations or directly to individuals who experience crisis or extreme financial need.

  • Health Scholarships: Small financial support to students who are pursuing health-related occupations and to institutions of higher learning to provide resources to faculty.

We're grateful for the support of local community foundations such as the WNC Bridge Foundation.

“WNC Bridge Foundation is proud to support YWCA Asheville’s mission-based work which aligns with our own mission of being a catalyst for change by eliminating barriers that prevent any person from reaching their full potential.” - WNC Bridge President & CEO, Scott Buchanan.

By resourcing our programs, WNC Bridge allows us to do the work every day to nurture families, support economic empowerment, and promote health and healing. Thank you, WNC

Bridge!
